Hi Everyone, I hope you all are well and thriving! I just finished a new record, my second with my friend Dirk Powell! This one is called My Dony and it’s a straight ahead electric blues album. I wrote three tunes for the record, Dirk wrote three, including the title cut, and we wrote two together. We’re fabulously happy with the results! Dirk plays virtuoso guitar and piano and sings incredible harmony. Jamie Dick and Jason Sypher, from the Rhiannon Giddens band, played drums and bass respectively, and you won’t find a better rhythm section. Corey Ledet, often described as the accordion player closest in sound to Clifton Chenier, joins us for a few tunes. Kelli Jones adds her incredible singing on a couple with us and Rhiannon Giddens, Allison Russell, and Amythyst Kiah, supreme musicians all, join us for a beautiful version of the gospel tune Great Change! The release date for the record is October 18, 2019. There’s a release concert October 17 in Lafayette Louisiana and another in Seattle after the first if the year. We’ll be doing a crowd funding through Indie Go Go to help pay for it all. That launches September 3rd. We can’t wait to share this record with you! I’ll tell you more as more is revealed! I’ll be in Seattle August 30, playing with my favorite NW blues band at the Salmon Bay Eagles. I’m also playing Blackpot in Lafayette, with Dirk Powell on October 26th. See you at one of the shows! All the best Grant
