October 20 – 23, 2022

A Harmonica Summit (with other instruments as well!) with World Class teachers for learners of all levels, beginning to advanced.

Thursday, October 20th thru Sunday October 23rd, 2022 in Lafayette, Louisiana. You can enroll for the whole summit, or just a day or even a class at a time. The Summit will begin Thursday with registration and orientation at 3pm. and end Sunday at noon.

We offer in-depth harmonica instruction in Cajun Music and Acoustic Blues. Our harmonica instructors each have well over 30 years experience as performers and teachers in these genre. You will be in the best of hands.

Don’t play harmonica? We can teach you. Don’t want to learn harmonica? We offer group instruction for other instruments through Blues Band labs. The students will form bands, learn a couple of blues tunes and perform them at the Saturday Night Dance.

We also offer individual or small group blues music instruction for guitar, mandolin, fiddle, accordion, and bass upon request.

Don’t want to play an instrument? Would rather sing? We also have a gospel choir, meeting at the same time as the band labs. The choir will also learn a couple of songs to perform at the Saturday Dance.

We will offer seminars from local master musicians. They will share their approaches to, and the influences on their blues playing.

Each night of the summit will include live music and dancing with one of the many great bands from the Lafayette area.

Thursday night October 20th- Cajun Music with The Chris Miller Band featuring Jerry Devillier on harmonica.

Friday night, October 21st- Zydeco and Creole music with Chris Stafford and friends. Joe Filisko and Grant Dermody will start the evening on harmonica.

Saturday night, October 22nd- Raising Holy Hell from Alaska; everything from old-time fiddle tunes to Buddy Holly to the Ramones. The band labs and gospel choir will start the evening.

The dances are open to the public. You do not have to be a student to attend.

Meals will be provided by our resident master Cajun chef. She will also offer more traditional meals. Meals can be purchased individually.
